That 4 tire sale might end up being costly for us due to it taking more man hours to do. Really what it comes down to is asking the question. Keep in mind that Mercedes and BMW often don't have spares since they come equipped with runflats. As far as installing non run flat tires on vehicles that have them stock there shouldn't be an issue. Been at three different stores and it varies. I'm not sure if there is an official policy for all run flats. They have weird sizing too, different number format. Those we do not service, you need special equipment to change them. There is a year range of Honda Odyssey I believe that has special run flat tires. I've broken a duckhead doing them before. Then as you turn the table there's alot more force from the tire to the rim which can make it more prone to slipping off the duckhead. But getting that bead to go over that duckhead can be a pain. Also I'm sure there are far better machines than what Walmart has to do run flats.īreaking down the bead is not too bad. Just depends on the size and capability of tire tech. I personally have changed them in my ACC but I usually say we can't change run flats. Because of this they can be more difficult to dismount. Run flat tires generally have reinforced sidewalls to be able to withstand being driven on flat. ![]()
